Message of Sympathy for a Father Written to a Daughter

The Passing of Your Father

Dear Leah,

I’m so sorry to hear that your Dad has passed away. I know it’s been a long road – you’ve handled it with grace, but I’m sure it’s still very hard. My heart goes out to you.

Your Dad had such a gentle and caring soul. What an amazing man! He made friends with everyone he met, and even during his last days, he made people laugh and feel comfortable around him. I remember working with Jerry at the food bank. We had some great times together, especially during the silly times like when he stacked the canned goods almost as high as the ceiling and just barely got out of the way when they crashed to the floor! Jerry helped so many people in need and he’ll be remembered by many.

Know that he was so proud of you and spoke of you often. I see a lot of your Dad in you. May you find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is at peace. If there is anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to call!

Sending love and peace,

Heidi
