Message of Sympathy for a spouse written to her husband

Dear Uncle Joseph,

I just received the somber message of your wife’s departure from this life. How incredibly sad and abandoned you must feel. My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow.

Though we don’t keep in personal contact us much as I’d like too, I feel compelled to write a few words to let you know what an impression you and your wife made when we had our family gatherings. Your relationship was always an inspiration to me. Your example of care for each other proved to me that real love does exist. It was a secret dream of mine to find a mate who would seem as close to me as I felt you and my aunt were. It brings tears to my eyes to comprehend the loss you must feel.

I remember how you and your wife could communicate across the room without words, with a smile, with a loving look. Even after years of marriage you still addressed each other with terms of endearment. I saw you hold hands, exchange a kiss, share a private joke and laugh with enthusiasm. You led her to the dance floor as if she was a precious gift and she snuggled up to you, a dreamy look in her face, as if this moment was the best moment of her life. You were made for each other. I looked forward to our family gatherings just so I could glimpse the joy of your togetherness. This made a lasting impression on me and shaped the way I think of relationships and the fulfillment they can bring to a couple who is devoted and adores each other. I will surely miss my aunt terribly in future family reunions but I’ll be thankful to have you there as a reminder of the pair you two were.

I only can hope that you can find some solace in all the shared memories you two had and not dwell to long on your immense loss. This may be very difficult right now. But time will move on and the way I know my aunt and how full of life she was, she would be the first one to tell you, it’s okay to grieve, it’s okay to cry but it’s okay to enjoy life again as well. There is a time for all things.

Please let’s get together as soon as you feel you’re ready for an adventure of your own. Let’s not wait for the next family reunion! My door is always open, it would be my honor to have you staying with me. Together we can rehash some family reunion’s joys and mishaps and share memories of my late aunt and make some new memories of our own. Maybe you even can divulge your secrets of how you were able to create and sustain such a passionate relationship!

I hope to hear from you soon.

Take care of yourself, be good to yourself.

Sent with a heavy heart and much love and admiration.

Your nephew/niece
