Condolence Message Samples for a Father
Dear Janet,
I just heard about your dad. I am so sorry and wanted to offer my condolences. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you, coming right after your wedding.
There is no good time or way for someone you care about to die and I am sorry to find out that your dad's brother is making this even more painful for you and for your brothers.
I find that I am at a loss for words but with this news I am reminded of when my grandfather passed away. I was at a loss for words then too, but I wanted to share my sadness and express the loss I was feeling. I didn't think anyone would understand my feelings so I painted and wrote a journal. It sure helped me cope; perhaps you might want to try it.
Although I didn't know your dad well, I know you had a close relationship with him and that you were always giggling about something your dad said or did. I distinctly remember a time when I came over to your apartment and you were talking to him. He was telling you something that was so funny, your face was red and your eyes were filled with tears from laughing so hard. It made me start to laugh too and to this day I still laugh even though I don't know what he was telling you!
I am sorry I won't be able to make it to the funeral to convey my condolences in person but I am planning a trip home this summer and I will be sure to coordinate a time with you. Until then, please accept my sincere condolences and I will call you soon to make plans for the summer.
Sincerely,
Kristin
